Longest Treadmill Run So Far

I walked/jogged on the treadmill for 45 minutes today, 2.78 miles.

While I exercised I listened to two episodes of V and A Shipping by JR Murdock. I’ve got one more episode to go. It’s been a fun run so far.

My left earbud died. I think all the wear the connector gets in my pocket got exacerbated today by the jogging and the wire must have got damaged. A real bummer because YSDC put another episode of Tatters of the King out, which I’ve been waiting for, but since it is recorded in binaural audio, I can’t listen with just one earpiece.

It’s good to run though. I came back to see my wife did indeed do her Wii Fit Plus workout, which she seemed reluctant to do, but I’m glad she did.

12-07-09 Workout – 137.2 Cal – I Think I Pulled Something

Today’s workout was rubbish. Squash didn’t recognize any of my lunges and I then pulled a muscle slightly in my left leg so I skipped about 3 of the workouts, doing them not at all or only partially. Maybe it’s a cramp and not a pull. My friend Mike said cramps are due to dehydration. I bet I didn’t drink enough today, regardless of weather that was the cause or not. It’s not really painful in any case. I can walk fine.

If you actually read these, let me know. I might blog them anyways if no one responds, but I’d like to know. {:0)

12-04-09 Workout – 166.4 Cal – Missed some

I’ve missed 2 workouts, but I’m still doing them as I can.

This week was zany. I only missed one this week, the other was from a while back.

Haven’t had any weight loss that stuck yet, ‘cept maybe a pound.

12-02-09 Workout – 153.5 Cal – Down some pounds

I am down around 5 pounds. I know it can fluctuate, but it’s nice to see 210 when it was 215.

Pulled off the 12 pushups, but just barely.

11-28-09 Workout – 210.7 Cal – Above Minimum

I didn’t crap out doing the reverse crunches and I burned about 20 more calories then projected, just like I was doing before I stopped working out again.

11-27-09 Workout – 134.4 Cal – Getting Better

Little to report. I’m getting better at the workouts and feeling better. I keep realizing I’m not eating enough fruits and veggies. Need to work on that.

11-25-09 Workout – 170.0 Cal – Just missed my calorie goal

Another Wii EA Active More Workouts day completed. I just about 7 calories short of the calorie goal. I had some trouble on a few workouts in the obstacle course. I think I was trying to go too fast. Also, I didn’t do go super fast on the running ones. It’s good to keep at it though.

We were going to get a yoga mat on sale the other day, but it turned out it was the yoga block (whatever that is for?) next to it that was on sale. Instead of 11 bucks it was going to be 35 bucks. We declined and I just use a towel on the floor instead. Works just fine as far as I can tell.

11-21-09 Workout – 135.0 Cal – Pushups Are Hard!

Workout 2 today, with pushups. Good. Grief. Those. Are. Hard. They;ll become easier I’m sure, but for the moment my flabby arms aren’t much for doing them.

The Squash workout took me a bit to get the controls to respond right. Could have been me or the controls, don’t know.

I saw the trainer’s arm movements get choppy once or twice. Seemed odd, since I don’t think anything out of the ordinary happened.

Do I get extra points for trying to defend myself from an 18 month old while trying to do sit-up type exercises?

11-20-09 Workout – 187.9Cal – Starting EA Active again

My wife got EA Active More Workouts to review on her blog. The six week challenge for the blog tour started today and I am doing the workouts too. I completed the 30 day challenge before, but gave blood the next day after I completed it, and didn’t for a few days to recover, and never started again. It’s good to be back to sweating copious amounts of liquid all over the place.

EA Active More Workouts is really what EA Active should have been in the fist place (a whole heckuva lot like Wii Fit Plus is what Wii Fit should have been). But, that aside, it is really a better product.

The warm up/down section is a real improvement, and the several of the same workouts are improved in the presentation and approach. The obstacle course melds several new and old workouts into one event, making them less dull. The boxing is also improved by more moves and variety.

Overall, I’m liking EA Active More Workouts. It’s not as fun as a workout as playing Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, but I bet it’s more effective all around. I’ll keep you updated on my fitness progress and experience with the various Wii workout software and hardware I’m using.
