Down down I go #weightpocalypse2011

Down around 3 pounds this week. It was a bit discouraging as it wasn’t as much as last week and each day I wasn’t greeted with gobs of shed pounds. I stuck to it, even despite all  the dounuts and muffins people brought to work (of which I had none)

Still hovering at just below 200 #weightpocalypse2011

I think I had a lack of calories yesterday. I ate lentils and whatnot but I ended up a bit lightheaded after work. I had hazelnuts and more lentils later and felt better.

1.5 pounds to. Go to meet current goal. #weightpocalypse2011

I set a goal on the Wii Fit to lose some number of pounds, 15 I think (good to forget your goals, right). This morning it says I only have 1.5 pounds to go. I have a lot more to bet to my proper weight, though. This was just the initial goal.

Started my weight loss plan today #weightpocalypse2011

Started a plan to lose some weight today. Low carbs during the week, anything I want on Saturday. It worked for a friend of mine, so I thought I’d give it a go.

Maintaining my weight once my Wii Fit stops calling me obese will probably be the harder part.

A progress bar moved!

Started walking/jogging again today. Made it 1.86 miles in 30 minutes.

Yesterday I wrote two sentences for the ‘compassion’ story for Winston Crutchfield’s benefit book for Compassion 365. Last night I decided I had the wrong viewpoint character and changed him to a her and wrote the rest of the opening scene, or most of it at least. It is a horror story, and I am working compassion into it, just hopefully in  a way that people wont expect.

I’m in the process of editing a story I finished that was for a winner of last year’s Podcasting For Water winner (who won a story by me about them, or his son in this case.) I had planned on about 1000 words, and it’s over 2k at the moment. I don’t expect it getting any shorter, since I think I need to add to the story to make it any good. I’m fine with the plot, but the main character needs developed so the conflict is dangerous and personal to the viewpoint character. I set up a situation that hinders the main character, but not very well, so when I tried to tap into it at the end, it made some sense, but I couldn’t put the emotion I wanted into it, plus the fix at the end felt anti-climactic to me.

I don’t know if I’ll catch up on the 12 stories finished this year, but I know I can catch up on the miles ran. Getting my time organized and using Remember the Milk and Google Calendar and putting those on my desktop with SMS reminders is really helping my get things done (as opposed to forgetting to do them.) Like the Mad Poet says, 2010 is not the year to step back, it’s the year to step up. I think I’m making that happen.

(Thanks to my Star Wars Game Master Jason for the tip of Remember the Milk)

Twitter: Didn’t do as much as I wanted on jogging today. Getting sick made me lose some stamina progress. 1.06 miles, 142 calories.

Longest Treadmill Run So Far

I walked/jogged on the treadmill for 45 minutes today, 2.78 miles.

While I exercised I listened to two episodes of V and A Shipping by JR Murdock. I’ve got one more episode to go. It’s been a fun run so far.

My left earbud died. I think all the wear the connector gets in my pocket got exacerbated today by the jogging and the wire must have got damaged. A real bummer because YSDC put another episode of Tatters of the King out, which I’ve been waiting for, but since it is recorded in binaural audio, I can’t listen with just one earpiece.

It’s good to run though. I came back to see my wife did indeed do her Wii Fit Plus workout, which she seemed reluctant to do, but I’m glad she did.

12-07-09 Workout – 137.2 Cal – I Think I Pulled Something

Today’s workout was rubbish. Squash didn’t recognize any of my lunges and I then pulled a muscle slightly in my left leg so I skipped about 3 of the workouts, doing them not at all or only partially. Maybe it’s a cramp and not a pull. My friend Mike said cramps are due to dehydration. I bet I didn’t drink enough today, regardless of weather that was the cause or not. It’s not really painful in any case. I can walk fine.

If you actually read these, let me know. I might blog them anyways if no one responds, but I’d like to know. {:0)
